Papal Coat of Arms

A shield surmounted by the papal tiara and crossed by the keys to the kingdom of heaven.  Each pope since Innocent III (1198-1216) has had his own coat of arms.  The papal coat of arms was carved on the facade of Santa Prisca in hopes that the church would be made a basilica, but it was not to be.
